Task
This is an individual assignment. I was required to create 3 tattoo stamps with 3 different design elements and principles and transform them into an architectural model. The size of the model should be about 10cm x 10cm x 10cm. Next, I was also required to record my idea and design process in a design sketch journal. Lastly, I have to compose all my tattoo stamps on a presentation board and present my model verbally to the lecturers.
Progress
Design tattoo stamps
I started by designing the tattoo stamps first to develop my model through the design elements and principles. The first set of design elements and principles are points + hierarchy, the second set was shapes + rhythm and the last set was lines + symmetry.
Make test Models
After having 3 of my tattoo stamps designed, I started to develop them into a 3D model. I started by sketching up model ideas in the sketch journal and trying them out with test models. The test models are modified and improved into my final model afterwards.
Outcome
For the first model, the variation of heights and the focus show hierarchy and all of the strips were connected to a point in the middle.
The design element for the second model is being interpreted directly through the model. The shapes are circles, squares and squares. The rhythmic patterns are shown in the wavy effect at the range of heights of the circles and the variation of heights of the design in the middle.

For the third model, lines were shown by the frames and the strips in the middle. Symmetry can be also seen in 360 views of the model.
