Task
This is an individual assignment. After the site visit in Tanjung Tuan Recreational Forest and Tanjung Biru, I was required to design a discovery centre for the Tanjung Tuan Recreational Forest at a given site. The purpose of the building is to keep the essence of the place alive and a place for people to visits before entering Tanjung Tuan Recreational Forest. Futhermore, We have to produce drawings in 6 to 8 A1 boards with necessary diagrams and 1:100 scale physical model of the building.

I figured out the genius loci first before starting on the design of the building. With my own perception, the essence of Tanjung Tuan's Recreational Forest reveals itself through the unique hiking trails while each possessing its owndistinct characteristics and features

Outcome
"The Mirrored Odyssey" centers around the concept of reflecting the journey and essence of Tanjung Tuan Recreational Forest within the design of the discovery centre. As mentioned, the essence of the place specifically pertains to the distinctive hiking trails in Tanjung Tuan, each characterized by unique attributes and elements of surprise. Analogously, the discovery centre endeavors to emulate this experience, allowing users to choose their own paths within the building and encounter unexpected elements, resulting in personalized experiences based on their individual choices.

Reflection
Throughout this assignment, I acquired knowledge about incorporating universal design principles to ensure the discovery centre is accessible to users of all kinds. Additionally, I learned to select appropriate materials that align with the essence of the space and the site while considering environmental factors. The building's forms and shapes were developed and adjusted based on the distinctive characteristics and essence of Tanjung Tuan Recreational Forest, and I also gained proficiency in integrating precise measurements for the required spaces. Furthermore, I expanded my skill set by becoming proficient in various software such as Revit, Photoshop, Lumion, and more, allowing me to achieve the best outcomes for both the model and the presentation board. This experience enabled me to smoothly transition from manual drawing to digital drawing, thus enhancing my adaptability and proficiency throughout the learning process.
