Task

This is a group assignment. We are required to select a double-storey terrace house and come out with sets of drawings including floor plans, sections, elevations, details and etc with a 1:50 scale. Next, we are also required to choose a specific part of the house from floor to roof and make a physical model accordingly.

Outcome

We got assigned timber as our construction materials for the terrace house. We came out with in total of 10 drawings and a 1:20 scale model that shows a part of the details from foundation to roof of the house.

Reflection

Throughout this assignment, I have understood the structural application of timber in construction. I have also applied the knowledge while working on the orthographic drawings by understanding the details and connection of construction materials, symbols dimensions, etc. Model making has also strengthened the understanding of the detail from the foundation to the roof of the structure. Next, I was a group leader for this project and I have also learned how to communicate and divide the tasks among the group members equally and make sure every member has participated and contributed to this assignment.
